How to Play WordBlockCrush

The basics

  • Click or tap a letter, then drag across neighboring tiles to spell a word.
  • Words need at least 3 letters.
  • Connect letters horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
  • Release to submit — valid words crush the tiles.
  • New letters cascade down to fill the gaps so the board keeps going.

Scoring & bonus

  • Longer words score significantly more points.
  • Bonus Blocks are the dark-blue tiles with a gold star. Use one in a word for extra points, and it fills the bonus meter — a full meter triggers the BONUS ROUND slot machine.
  • Spell 3 words in a row that each use a light-blue tile to trigger Power Play: a lit hint letter and double points for up to 30 seconds.
  • Use an orange tile in a word and it also crushes every other orange tile on the board — free extra clears.
  • Find the level's target number of words to advance.
  • Out of moves you like? Shuffle the board — 1 use per level, and you can win it back by scoring points.
  • When Shuffle is used up, keep playing or use another available tool. Scoring points can refund a tool; there is no life-bar countdown.

Build around vowels

Find the A, E, I, O, and U tiles first, then look for consonants touching them. It turns "empty" boards into easy words.

Route words through gold-star Bonus Blocks for extra points and to fill your meter toward a lucrative Bonus Round.

No. Letters can connect horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, as long as each tile touches the next. Remembering to check diagonals helps you find words other players miss.

How are points calculated?+

Every letter in a word earns points, longer words of five or more letters earn a bonus on top, and any gold-star Bonus Block in your word adds extra points. That is why one long word usually beats several short ones. See the complete guide for details.

When should I use Shuffle?+

You get one shuffle per level, so save it for boards that are genuinely stuck — and you can earn it back mid-level by scoring points. Most boards still hide a short word or two — scan the vowels first before spending it.

Is there a time limit?+

There is no overall level timer or move limit. You can pause to think, though the combo expires seven seconds after a valid word and Power Play lasts up to 30 seconds. Each level asks you to find a set number of words; bring the Words Left counter to zero to move on.
