This Privacy Policy explains how WordBlockCrush ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you visit and play at wordblockcrush.com. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We do not require an account or ask for your email address or phone number. Your game progress and personal best score are stored locally in your browser using LocalStorage. If you qualify for the optional public leaderboard and choose to submit a score, we receive the display name you enter (or “Anonymous”), your score, and your level. We also use a one-way version of your IP address for abuse prevention and rate limiting; the raw address is not stored in the leaderboard.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is optional. Its tag loads only if you select “Allow analytics” in the site’s analytics choice. It measures page visits and standard site interactions, such as scrolling and outbound links. In the game it also records the mode you select, completed daily boards or endless levels, and the score and word count for those events. We do not send the words you play, your leaderboard name, or your email address to Analytics. Google may receive browser and device details, approximate location derived from your IP address, and cookies or similar identifiers to produce reports. We have disabled Google signals and ad personalization signals in the Analytics tag. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
You can decline analytics and still play. Your choice is stored in your browser’s LocalStorage. To change it, use “Analytics choice” in the footer. If you turn analytics off later, future site visits will not load its tag; you can also delete existing Google Analytics cookies in your browser settings. Microsoft Clarity session recording remains disabled.
External assets
Fonts and other externally hosted assets require requests to their providers, which can disclose your IP address and browser details. These requests are separate from the paused advertising and session-recording services.
Cookies and advertising
Visible advertising placements are currently paused while the site completes review. The site loads Google’s AdSense script for account connection and review, and we retain the AdSense account metadata and ads.txt ownership record. The script may contact Google when a page loads. Before enabling visible advertising, we will configure applicable consent controls and keep ads away from the game board and overlays. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this and other websites if advertising is enabled.
Some of our advertising partners may also use cookies and web beacons. These third parties may automatically receive your IP address and similar technical data when this occurs. They use this information to measure the effectiveness of their advertising and to personalize the ad content you see.
Your choices
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. For more on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see Google’s Privacy & Terms. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
Children’s privacy
WordBlockCrush is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Third-party links
Advertisements and links may direct you to external websites that we do not operate or control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
