How Tool Refunds Work in WordBlockCrush
Bomb, Wild, and Shuffle each begin with one use. After you spend a tool, you can earn it back by scoring points. Every 10,000 points of refund progress restores one used-up tool, so high-scoring words, length bonuses, combos, gold blocks, and Power Play all help you reach the next refund sooner.
The 10,000-point refund meter
Refund progress grows as you score. When it reaches 10,000 points, the game checks for a tool that has been used up and restores one use. Progress beyond the threshold carries toward a later refund, so a large scoring play is never wasted.
Which tool comes back first
The game checks used tools in a fixed order: Bomb first, then Wild, then Shuffle. If your Bomb and Shuffle are both at zero when the meter reaches the threshold, Bomb returns first. Keep scoring toward another threshold to restore the Shuffle.
How to earn a Bomb refund faster
Build words of five letters or more, keep a valid-word combo active, route through gold Bonus Blocks, and activate Power Play with three consecutive blue-tile words. These effects raise your score and therefore fill the refund meter more quickly.
Refund progress carries between levels
The refund meter is not erased when you complete a level. If you are close to 10,000 points, the progress follows you into the next level. The individual tools also do not automatically restock at a level change; scoring is how a used one returns.
Why nothing returned at 10,000 points
A refund is needed only when at least one tool is at zero. If Bomb, Wild, and Shuffle are all still available, there is no used tool to restore. Continue playing and use a tool when it creates a clear advantage.
Spend tools with the refund order in mind
Because Bomb has first priority, spending it before another tool changes which one returns at the next threshold. Check the counters, the board problem, and your refund progress before choosing. Use Bomb for a blocked area, Wild for a missing letter, and Shuffle when the whole grid needs a reset.
